What do you think of Canon EOS Rebel XSI digital SLR camera?

Thursday Oct 23, 2008

Do you recommend it? I am getting ready to step up to SLR camera so I can start taking professional quality shots..is it easy to use? I hate the regular digital camera with blurr picture of moving objects or slow lag time in between shots etc…

The XSi is a nice camera. However, unlike Sony and Pentax, it does not have Image Stabilization (IS) in the camera body. With Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras if you want IS you have to pay extra for it when you buy an IS lens.

The Sony A300 (10.2mp) and A350 (14.2mp) have Live View that actually works with the auto focus. In a situation where the only way to get the picture is to hold the camera over your head? Flip the screen down and you can compose, check focus and shoot. Using your camera at ground-level? Just flip the screen up.

Sony currently has 26 branded lenses, has released a Carl Zeiss T* line of lenses and every legacy Minolta Maxxum AF lens made since 1985 will mount to any Sony DSLR. Of course, with the in-camera IS every lens you use will have that benefit.

Most accessories from the Konica-Minolta D5 & D7 DSLR cameras are compatible with the Sony DSLRs since Sony bought the technology from K-M in 2006.

The Pentax K200D and K20D can use every Pentax K-mount lens made since 1975, whether manual focus or auto focus. Again, with in-camera IS every lens used will have that benefit.

Regardless of which camera you buy, plan on taking some photography classes. Until you learn about composition, light, shutter speeds, f-stops and ISO your pictures will not turn out the way you want. The most expensive, sophisticated camera in the hands of an unskilled person will take lousy pictures. Its not the camera, its the photographer.

I am bringing a SLR Digital Canon Rebel to walt disney world and I was wondering…?

Tuesday Aug 31, 2010

I am bringing a SLR digital canon rebel to Walt Disney world during spring break. I will be conceling my camera in my backpack when i am not using it. If I want to ride a roller coaster (or any other ride) am I aloud to bring my backpack on with me? or do I have to leave it on the ground hoping no one will steal it.

A lot of the rides you can take a backpack on with you. For those that you cannot, there are lockers that you can rent outside of the ride to store your stuff.

Can i use a compatible lens for a canon eos Digital rebel xsi 12.2 megapixal digital SLR camera?

Sunday Aug 22, 2010

I HAVE A QUANTARAY ASPHERICAL I.F Lens

Turn it around. Does its mouth look just like the lens that came with your camera? Do all the electronic connetions look the same? Does it say EOS on the label? If all those are "yes", it ** probably ** will fit.

Note: It could be the old Canon FD mouth. It won’t work so don’t try it.

I recently bought the base of a Canon Rebel XT SLR digital camera. I don’t know what type of lens to buy for i?

Wednesday Aug 11, 2010

I like to take both distance and close up photos and I’m having difficulty deciding on the type of lens to purchase. I’m kind of on a budget and don’t want to spend more than $200 but preferably less. I know something about cameras but I’m just not sure which lens would be best for me.

I would suggest you buying Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS SLR Len
It is a SHARP lens. Gives me good color, contrast, and detail. I use it to take close up pictures of flowers in my garden. I come out with great pictures with high image quality (IQ) and impressive backround blur (bokeh). It is LIGHT in weight and relatively small, so mounted on my 50D, it makes the camera unit easy to carry even with one hand. When the camera is lugged around my neck, it is not as heavy with this lens on, thus ideal for travelling. It is VERSATILE since the range it covers is the usual range of shots I take.

What’s the differance between the Canon EOS 400D Rebel XTi & Canon EOS 5D Digital SLR Camera?

Tuesday Jul 27, 2010

I really enjoy photography and I want to pursue it professionally. I want to get a really nice camera with all the best quality tricks-of-the-trade. However, I am having a difficult time making a decision on which to get. I prefer the Classic Canon brand. Have any recommendations?

EOS400 is an amatuer camera.
EOS 5D is closer to a Pro camera.
I’ll choose the 5D because it has a full frame chip (same size as 35mm) thus, 16mm lens is 16mm and not (16×1.63)mm, Ability for shallower depth of field, etc. Generally, a full frame camera has the capabilities to create better pictures.
Setback of the 5D:
Besides being more pricey than 400D, the burst speed is not great, making it a not-so-good camera for photography that requires speed, ie. sports photography.

SLR Camera Digital Canon Rebel XT?

Saturday Jul 17, 2010

I need to be able to set up the camera to take karate pictures in the gym. I know how to do this with a standard film camera but it is illuding me on this digital. I can set it up to do it great out doors, but not in. The pictures still come up black. Help!!! I have read and reread the manual and still cant figure it out. HOW do I set the camera up to do it!

Raise the ISO number! sounds like you are NOT using flash. Besides if you were using flash you would have to use powerful studio units which would also interfere with those doing karate. Probably the flash would be blinding.

Canon EOS rebel T1i SLR digital camera- should I get it?

Tuesday Jul 6, 2010

I’m thinking of purchasing this camera but just want to make sure that it’s good before I spend 700 dollars on it. So someone who has it, what are your thoughts on it? Pro’s and con’s? Thanks!

Canon T1i Pros:
- great pictures, even on AUTO
- kit lens is great for starting out!
- not as big or heavy as prosumer cameras
- awesome camera for those new to photography
- can be used to practice with auto mode/creative auto mode if you are new to SLRs and are more used to point-and-shoots
- VERY affordable!
- same image sensor as the one in the more expensive prosumer Canon 50D

Canon T1i Cons:
- EF-S lens may rack up in your collection and can only be used by aps- cameras such as the rebel series, 50D, etc.
- the kit lens is rather limited once you get more into photography (average in low light settings, low shutter speed, cheap plasticy feel, etc. )
- can only use fast SDHC cards to record movies
-AF in live view is slow
